Privacy Policy

Content Archival Policy

No content shall be presented on the Website after its expiry date. In the case of such components where validity date is not known at the time of creation, such content shall be treated to be perpetual unless expiry date is otherwise revised. For selected contents, the data will be shifted to the archives pages.

For components like public notice, vacancy, etc. only the live content, whose expiry date is after the current date, shall be presented on the Website.

The content contributors shall revalidate / modify the content periodically to ensure that expired data is not presented on the website.

This website contains information which is freely accessible, and may be viewed by any visitor. The Website Privacy Policy details our position regarding the use of personal information provided by customers/visitors. This website is monitored periodically to address and fix the quality and compatibility issues around the following parameters:

Performance: Site download time is optimized for a variety of network connections as well as devices. All important pages of the website are tested for this. Performance testing will be done whenever it is found that the performance of the site has gone down from the standard performance as experienced.

Functionality: All modules of the website are tested for their functionality. The interactive components of the site such as, feedback forms are working smoothly. Functionality will be tested whenever there is a change in any module.

Broken Links: The website is thoroughly reviewed to rule out the presence of any broken links or errors. Broken links are reviewed half-yearly.

Feedback: Feedback from the visitors is the best way to judge a website’s performance and make necessary improvements. Feedbacks will be closely reviewed by a committee and action will be taken accordingly as per the suggestion of the committee.

All possible efforts need to be taken to keep the content on the Website current and relevant. Different contents will be closely reviewed by GIGW Committee and necessary corrections will be made as per the review of the committee.

Relevance of the content will be reviewed on a half yearly basis.

Website Contingency Management Policy

This Website is the presence of our company on the Internet and very importantly the site is fully functional all the times. It is expected of our website to deliver information and services on a 24X7 basis. Hence, all efforts should be made to minimize the downtime of the website as far as possible.

It is therefore necessary that a proper Contingency Plan to be prepared to handle any eventualities and restore the site in the shortest possible time. The possible contingencies include:

Defacement of the website: All possible security measures must be taken for the website to prevent any possible defacement/hacking by unscrupulous elements. However, if despite the security measures in place, such an eventuality occurs, there must be a proper contingency plan, which should immediately come into force. If it has been established beyond doubt that the website has been defaced, the site must be immediately blocked. The web information manager has to decide the course of action in such eventualities. The complete contact details of this authorized person must be available at all times with the web management team. Efforts should be made to restore the original site in the shortest possible time. At the same time, regular security reviews and checks should be conducted in order to plug any loopholes in the security.

Data Corruption: A proper mechanism is in place to ensure that appropriate and regular back-ups of the website data are being taken. These enable a fast recovery and uninterrupted availability of the information to the citizens in view of any data corruption.

Content Contribution, Moderation & Approval Policy (CMAP)

Content needs to be contributed by the authorized Content Managers of MSTC in a consistent fashion to maintain uniformity and to bring in standardization along with associated metadata and keywords. In order to present the content as per the requirement of the viewer, organize the content in categorized manner and to retrieve the relevant content efficiently, it is required to contribute the content to the website through a Content Management System which would be web-based having user-friendly interface.

The content on the portal goes through the entire life-cycle process of:-

  • Creation
  • Modification
  • Approval
  • Publishing
  • Expiry
  • Archival
Once the content is contributed it needs to be approved and moderated prior to being published on the Website. The moderation could be multilevel and is role based. If the content is rejected at any level then it is reverted back to the originator of the content for modification.

Different Content Element is categorized as:-

Routine: In routine policy, Content once uploaded by the contributor is checked by himself by going through a checklist, once checklist is fulfilled, content will get forwarded to the assigned Head of department called as Approver for the review. For reviewing the content, Approver will go through the defined checklist, will give his suggestion or remarks and forward the content to Website Information Manager i.e. Moderator for Moderation.

Website Information Manager Review the content by assuring that content is following all checklist points, will give his suggestion or remarks and forwards it to the Publisher. Publisher will upload the content in the website and will give his remarks. Once Publisher Publish the content, contributor can check the content in live website and give his feedback whether the content is uploaded as per his expectations or not and accordingly contributor accept and decline the work done by publisher.

Priority - Content which are to be uploaded on a priority basis.

In Priority policy, Content once uploaded by the contributor is checked by himself by going through a checklist, once checklist is fulfilled, content will get forwarded to Approver for Approval.

Approval Reviews the content by assuring that content is following all checklist points, will give his suggestion or remarks and forwards it directly to the Publisher. Publisher will upload the content in the website and will give his remarks. Once Publisher Publish the content, contributor can check the content in live website and give his feedback whether the content is uploaded as per his expectations or not and accordingly contributor accept and decline the work done by publisher.
